Go to a mom-and-pop drug store or general store and find a saleswoman to help you. It has to be mom-and-pop, not a large chain, you’ll see the reason for this in a moment. Once you find a saleswoman to help you, tell her these exact words, “Lately, I find myself needing more absorbency, what are the most super-absorbent tampons available on the market?” When she hands them to you, examine the box very carefully, read every word on the box aloud to the saleswoman. Then tell her, “I’m just not sure these will be the right fit…” Hem and haw a bit, stall for time. Watch her get really antsy and tell her you need to think about it and that you have some other shopping to do. This is where the “mom-and-pop” part comes into play. After the saleswoman leaves you alone with the box of tampons, find the price tag and tear it off. Now, go up to the register and attempt to purchase them without the price.
